A Dream Day

Last Friday was indeed, dreamy.

Why?

Because Fifi and Mark showed up at Daisy Cottage's door...

And they waved their magic wands throughout our home, turning our yellow cottage into Cinderella for the day, with amazing talent and finesse....

Thankfully, the potted flowers were still alive....

   

And the threatening rain didn't dampen our day...

 

No, it was all just PERFECT.  The shoot, the time together, the DAY.

Perfect in EVERY way.

Fifi, being silly in the kitchen.....

Well, maybe not perfect in EVERY way.. I am sorry to report that Miss Maggie did not do so very well.

Sigh.  The doxie diva - the true poser - decided THIS was the day to be camera shy. Poor poor Mark.

No, she wasn't too happy with her moment in the spotlight - BUT, she was very happy to be back on my lap at the end of the day after we had to say our goodbyes....

It had been a very long week for this sweet girl - but I think she will forget and forgive me...

I, on the other hand, will NEVER FORGET this dream day - the memory will be in my heart forever.

Thank you Fifi!  Thank you Mark!  Thank you for giving Daisy Cottage AND us, the gift of YOU.

She needs to come here and sit down and, you know, hold me.

A Little Intermission

A very special someone will be visiting Daisy Cottage in a few days.  I am sooooooo excited to see her again. My blog will have a little "intermission" as I have some major cleaning to do for a Daisy Cottage photo shoot!  It's time to address the not-so-cute dust bunnies and doggy hair and I definitely need to freshen up our front porch with flowers that are actually alive!  ;-)

I'll miss you and I wish that you could be here too, although I'd probably hand you a dust cloth and a broom - but you know that you WILL be here in spirit!

So, before I sign off, I thought I'd share these photos from a fabulous shop called Retro Rosie, also located in Bradenton, Florida.  I cannot wait to visit this shop again one day - it is such a darling one - and we really enjoyed our visit. I hope that you do too.....

Adorable Shop!

No, this isn't a shop - it's the beach, of course - and my sister and I made sure to say hello to it yesterday on one of our "getaway days" that we like to treat ourselves to every once in a while...

While dipping our toes in the water and basking in our Florida sun, this little bird came along and told us about an ADORABLE shop that was nearby..

Well, of course, we HAD to check it out for ourselves and we are SO glad that we did....

With my camera fully charged, I took photos as I meandered about and hopefully you don't mind that I brought you along with me too!

Oh yes - eye candy galore!

I loved the colors that greeted us everywhere!

It is time for us to leave this sweet shop behind, but we will go back one day!

My sister and I found another shop after our visit here and I'll share that next ... 'till then I hope you can find some time for a little getaway day too!

*edited* to add that YES, something blue came home with me and of course I'll share that with you when it finds its' perfect spot at Daisy Cottage and this charming shop is located in Bradenton, Florida!

Sisters That Sew

Most of you know that I am REALLY LUCKY to have an awesome sister! She's a multi-talented girl and amazes me every day with all that she can do - and one of her many talents is sewing! And for someone like me, who admittedly does NOT have the patience to sew, this is a wonderful thing - having a sister who does!

Sooooo, whenever I find extra cute napkins or vintage pillowcases or fabric, I simply pass them along to her and she kindly creates lots and lots of fun things for ME.  See how that works? I know, I know... I'M SPOILED!  ;-)

This is what Jill created with two, red vintage napkins, that I found at Goodwill - an adorable pillow...

And she created this pillow out of two Anthropologie napkins that I found at a yard sale for 25 cents each...

And she created this pillow from a vintage pillow case, also found at Goodwill...

Aren't they cute? Thank you sis! I LOVE THEM!!!

Speaking of spoiled, sweet Sherrie also spoiled me when she sent me this beautiful blue dish that she found in one of her local shops AND the most heavenly smelling soap that she handmade...
